1He entered and was passing through Jericho.2There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.3He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.4He ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.5When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus|strong="G2195", hurry|strong="G4692" and|strong="G2532" come|strong="G2064" down|strong="G2597", for|strong="G1063" today|strong="G4594" I|strong="G1473" must|strong="G1163" stay|strong="G3306" at|strong="G1722" your|strong="G2532" house|strong="G3624".” 6He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.7When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”8Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”9Jesus said to him, “Today|strong="G4594", salvation|strong="G4991" has|strong="G1096" come|strong="G1096" to|strong="G4314" this|strong="G3778" house|strong="G3624", because|strong="G3754" he|strong="G2532" also|strong="G2532" is|strong="G1510" a|strong="G1096" son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G5207" Abraham. 10For|strong="G1063" the|strong="G2532" Son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G5207" Man|strong="G5207" came|strong="G2064" to|strong="G2532" seek|strong="G2212" and|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" save|strong="G4982" that|strong="G3588" which|strong="G3588" was|strong="G3588" lost.” 11As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that God’s Kingdom would be revealed immediately.12He said therefore, “A|strong="G2532" certain|strong="G5100" nobleman|strong="G2104" went|strong="G4198" into|strong="G1519" a|strong="G2532" far country|strong="G5561" to|strong="G1519" receive|strong="G2983" for|strong="G1519" himself|strong="G1438" a|strong="G2532" kingdom and|strong="G2532" to|strong="G1519" return|strong="G5290". 13He|strong="G2532" called|strong="G2564" ten|strong="G1176" servants|strong="G1401" of|strong="G2532" his|strong="G1438" and|strong="G2532" gave|strong="G1325" them|strong="G1325" ten|strong="G1176" mina|strong="G3414" coins, and|strong="G2532" told|strong="G3004" them|strong="G1325", ‘Conduct business|strong="G4231" until|strong="G2532" I|strong="G3739" come|strong="G2064".’ 14But|strong="G1161" his|strong="G1909" citizens|strong="G4177" hated|strong="G3404" him|strong="G3588", and|strong="G2532" sent|strong="G2532" an|strong="G2532" envoy after|strong="G3694" him|strong="G3588", saying|strong="G3004", ‘We|strong="G2249" don’t|strong="G3588" want|strong="G2309" this|strong="G3778" man|strong="G3778" to|strong="G2532" reign|strong="G2532" over|strong="G1909" us|strong="G3004".’15“When|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" come|strong="G1096" back|strong="G2983" again|strong="G2532", having|strong="G2532" received|strong="G2983" the|strong="G1722" kingdom, he|strong="G2532" commanded|strong="G1325" these|strong="G3778" servants|strong="G1401", to|strong="G2443" whom|strong="G3739" he|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" given|strong="G1325" the|strong="G1722" money, to|strong="G2443" be|strong="G1096" called|strong="G3004" to|strong="G2443" him|strong="G3588", that|strong="G2443" he|strong="G2532" might|strong="G2532" know|strong="G1097" what|strong="G5101" they|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" gained by|strong="G1722" conducting business|strong="G3588". 16The|strong="G1161" first|strong="G4413" came|strong="G3854" before|strong="G4413" him|strong="G3588", saying|strong="G3004", ‘Lord|strong="G2962", your|strong="G2962" mina|strong="G3414" has|strong="G2962" made|strong="G1161" ten|strong="G1176" more|strong="G4333" minas|strong="G3414".’17“He|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004" to|strong="G2532" him|strong="G1722", ‘Well|strong="G2532" done|strong="G1096", you|strong="G3754" good|strong="G2095" servant|strong="G1401"! They threw their cloaks on the colt and sat Jesus on them.36As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road.37As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,38saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!
