1When Jesus had finished these words, he departed from Galilee and came into the borders of Judea beyond the Jordan.2Great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there.3Pharisees came to him, testing him and saying, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”4He answered, “Haven’t|strong="G3588" you|strong="G3754" read that|strong="G3754" he|strong="G2532" who|strong="G3588" made|strong="G4160" them|strong="G3588" from|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" beginning made|strong="G4160" them|strong="G3588" male and|strong="G2532" female|strong="G2338",5and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004", ‘For|strong="G1519" this|strong="G3778" cause|strong="G1752" a|strong="G2532" man|strong="G3778" shall|strong="G2532" leave|strong="G2641" his|strong="G1519" father|strong="G3962" and|strong="G2532" mother|strong="G3384", and|strong="G2532" shall|strong="G2532" be|strong="G1510" joined|strong="G2853" to|strong="G1519" his|strong="G1519" wife|strong="G1135"; and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" two|strong="G1417" shall|strong="G2532" become|strong="G1510" one|strong="G1520" flesh|strong="G4561"’?6So|strong="G3767" that|strong="G3739" they|strong="G3588" are|strong="G1510" no|strong="G3361" more|strong="G3765" two|strong="G1417", but|strong="G3361" one|strong="G1520" flesh|strong="G4561". What|strong="G3739" therefore|strong="G3767" God|strong="G2316" has|strong="G2316" joined|strong="G4801" together|strong="G4801", don’t|strong="G3588" let|strong="G5563" man|strong="G1520" tear apart.”7They asked him, “Why then did Moses command us to give her a certificate of divorce and divorce her?”8He said to them, “Moses|strong="G3475", because|strong="G3754" of|strong="G3588" the|strong="G1161" hardness|strong="G4641" of|strong="G3588" your|strong="G3588" hearts|strong="G4641", allowed|strong="G2010" you|strong="G5210" to|strong="G4314" divorce your|strong="G3588" wives|strong="G1135", but|strong="G1161" from|strong="G3756" the|strong="G1161" beginning it|strong="G3754" has|strong="G1096" not|strong="G3756" been|strong="G1096" so|strong="G3779". 9I|strong="G3739" tell|strong="G3004" you|strong="G5210" that|strong="G3754" whoever|strong="G3739" divorces his|strong="G1909" wife|strong="G1135", except|strong="G3361" for|strong="G3754" sexual|strong="G4202" immorality|strong="G4202", and|strong="G2532" marries|strong="G1060" another|strong="G3739", commits|strong="G3429" adultery|strong="G3429"; and|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" who|strong="G3739" marries|strong="G1060" her|strong="G3754" when|strong="G1161" she|strong="G2532" is|strong="G3588" divorced commits|strong="G3429" adultery|strong="G3429".”10His disciples said to him, “If this is the case of the man with his wife, it is not expedient to marry.”11But he said to them, “Not|strong="G3756" all|strong="G3956" men|strong="G3956" can|strong="G3004" receive|strong="G5562" this|strong="G3778" saying|strong="G3004", but|strong="G1161" those|strong="G3588" to|strong="G3004" whom|strong="G3739" it|strong="G1161" is|strong="G3588" given|strong="G1325". 12For|strong="G1063" there|strong="G2532" are|strong="G1510" eunuchs|strong="G2135" who|strong="G3588" were|strong="G1510" born|strong="G1080" that|strong="G3588" way|strong="G3779" from|strong="G1537" their|strong="G1438" mother|strong="G3384"’s womb|strong="G2836", and|strong="G2532" there|strong="G2532" are|strong="G1510" eunuchs|strong="G2135" who|strong="G3588" were|strong="G1510" made|strong="G2134" eunuchs|strong="G2135" by|strong="G1223" men|strong="G3588"; and|strong="G2532" there|strong="G2532" are|strong="G1510" eunuchs|strong="G2135" who|strong="G3588" made|strong="G2134" themselves|strong="G1438" eunuchs|strong="G2135" for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G2532" Kingdom of|strong="G1537" Heaven|strong="G3772"’s sake|strong="G1223". He|strong="G2532" who|strong="G3588" is|strong="G1510" able|strong="G1410" to|strong="G2532" receive|strong="G5562" it|strong="G2532", let|strong="G1510" him|strong="G3588" receive|strong="G5562" it|strong="G2532".”13Then little children were brought to him that he should lay his hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.14But Jesus said, “Allow the|strong="G2532" little children|strong="G3813", and|strong="G2532" don’t|strong="G3588" forbid|strong="G2967" them|strong="G3588" to|strong="G4314" come|strong="G2064" to|strong="G4314" me|strong="G1473"; for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G2532" Kingdom of|strong="G2532" Heaven|strong="G3772" belongs|strong="G1510" to|strong="G4314" ones like|strong="G5108" these|strong="G3588".”15He laid his hands on them, and departed from there.16Behold, one came to him and said, “Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”17He said to him, “Why|strong="G5101" do|strong="G5101" you|strong="G1487" call|strong="G3004" me|strong="G1473" good|strong="G5101"?No|strong="G1487" one|strong="G1520" is|strong="G1510" good|strong="G5101" but|strong="G1161" one|strong="G1520", that|strong="G3588" is|strong="G1510", God|strong="G3004". But|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" you|strong="G1487" want|strong="G2309" to|strong="G1519" enter|strong="G1525" into|strong="G1519" life|strong="G2222", keep|strong="G5083" the|strong="G1519" commandments|strong="G1785".” 18He said to him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “‘You|strong="G3004" shall|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3756" murder|strong="G5407".’ ‘You|strong="G3004" shall|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3756" commit|strong="G3431" adultery|strong="G3431".’ ‘You|strong="G3004" shall|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3756" steal|strong="G2813".’ ‘You|strong="G3004" shall|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3756" offer false|strong="G5576" testimony|strong="G5576".’ 19‘Honor|strong="G5091" your|strong="G5091" father|strong="G3962" and|strong="G2532" your|strong="G5091" mother|strong="G3384".’And|strong="G2532", ‘You|strong="G4771" shall|strong="G2532" love your|strong="G5091" neighbor|strong="G4139" as|strong="G5613" yourself|strong="G4572".’”20The young man said to him, “All these things I have observed from my youth. What do I still lack?”21Jesus said to him, “If|strong="G1487" you|strong="G4771" want|strong="G2309" to|strong="G2532" be|strong="G1510" perfect|strong="G5046", go|strong="G5217", sell|strong="G4453" what|strong="G3588" you|strong="G4771" have|strong="G2192", and|strong="G2532" give|strong="G1325" to|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" poor|strong="G4434", and|strong="G2532" you|strong="G4771" will|strong="G2309" have|strong="G2192" treasure|strong="G2344" in|strong="G1722" heaven|strong="G3772"; and|strong="G2532" come|strong="G1204", follow me|strong="G1325".”22But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he was one who had great possessions.23Jesus said to his disciples, “Most certainly I|strong="G1161" say|strong="G3004" to|strong="G1519" you|strong="G5210", a|strong="G1519" rich|strong="G4145" man|strong="G4145" will|strong="G3748" enter|strong="G1525" into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1519" Kingdom of|strong="G2424" Heaven|strong="G3772" with|strong="G1519" difficulty. 24Again|strong="G3825" I|strong="G1161" tell|strong="G3004" you|strong="G5210", it|strong="G3754" is|strong="G1510" easier|strong="G2123" for|strong="G3754" a|strong="G1519" camel|strong="G2574" to|strong="G1519" go|strong="G1525" through|strong="G1223" a|strong="G1519" needle|strong="G4476"’s eye than|strong="G2228" for|strong="G3754" a|strong="G1519" rich|strong="G4145" man|strong="G4145" to|strong="G1519" enter|strong="G1525" into|strong="G1519" God|strong="G2316"’s Kingdom.”25When the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”26Looking at them, Jesus said, “With|strong="G3844" men|strong="G3956" this|strong="G3778" is|strong="G1510" impossible, but|strong="G1161" with|strong="G3844" God|strong="G2316" all|strong="G3956" things|strong="G3956" are|strong="G1510" possible|strong="G1415".”27Then Peter answered, “Behold, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?”28Jesus said to them, “Most certainly|strong="G1909" I|strong="G1473" tell|strong="G3004" you|strong="G5210" that|strong="G3754" you|strong="G5210" who|strong="G3588" have|strong="G2532" followed me|strong="G1473", in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" regeneration|strong="G3824" when|strong="G3752" the|strong="G1722" Son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G5207" Man|strong="G5207" will|strong="G2532" sit|strong="G2521" on|strong="G1909" the|strong="G1722" throne|strong="G2362" of|strong="G5207" his|strong="G1909" glory|strong="G1391", you|strong="G5210" also|strong="G2532" will|strong="G2532" sit|strong="G2521" on|strong="G1909" twelve|strong="G1427" thrones|strong="G2362", judging|strong="G2919" the|strong="G1722" twelve|strong="G1427" tribes|strong="G5443" of|strong="G5207" Israel|strong="G2474". 29Everyone|strong="G3956" who|strong="G3588" has|strong="G3962" left houses|strong="G3614", or|strong="G2228" brothers, or|strong="G2228" sisters, or|strong="G2228" father|strong="G3962", or|strong="G2228" mother|strong="G3384", or|strong="G2228" wife|strong="G1135", or|strong="G2228" children|strong="G5043", or|strong="G2228" lands, for|strong="G1752" my|strong="G3956" name|strong="G3686"’s sake|strong="G1752", will|strong="G2532" receive|strong="G2983" one|strong="G3956" hundred|strong="G1542" times|strong="G4179", and|strong="G2532" will|strong="G2532" inherit|strong="G2816" eternal life|strong="G2222". 30But|strong="G1161" many|strong="G4183" will|strong="G1510" be|strong="G1510" last|strong="G2078" who|strong="G2532" are|strong="G1510" first|strong="G4413", and|strong="G2532" first|strong="G4413" who|strong="G2532" are|strong="G1510" last|strong="G2078".
