1 Now after these things, the Lord also appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two ahead of him into every city and place where he was about to come. 2 Then he said to them, “The|strong="G1519" harvest|strong="G2326" is|strong="G3588" indeed|strong="G3303" plentiful|strong="G4183", but|strong="G1161" the|strong="G1519" laborers|strong="G2040" are|strong="G3588" few|strong="G3641". Pray|strong="G1189" therefore|strong="G3767" to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1519" Lord|strong="G2962" of|strong="G2962" the|strong="G1519" harvest|strong="G2326", that|strong="G3588" he|strong="G1161" may|strong="G3004" send|strong="G1544" out|strong="G1544" laborers|strong="G2040" into|strong="G1519" his|strong="G1438" harvest|strong="G2326". 3 Go|strong="G5217" your|strong="G3708" ways|strong="G5217". Behold|strong="G2400", I|strong="G5613" send you|strong="G5210" out as|strong="G5613" lambs among|strong="G1722" wolves|strong="G3074". 4 Carry no|strong="G3361" purse, nor|strong="G2532" wallet, nor|strong="G2532" sandals|strong="G5266". Woe|strong="G3759" to|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210", Bethsaida! For|strong="G3754" if|strong="G1487" the|strong="G1722" mighty|strong="G1411" works|strong="G1411" had|strong="G2532" been|strong="G1096" done|strong="G1096" in|strong="G1722" Tyre|strong="G5184" and|strong="G2532" Sidon|strong="G4605" which|strong="G3588" were|strong="G3588" done|strong="G1096" in|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210", they|strong="G2532" would|strong="G1096" have|strong="G2532" repented|strong="G3340" long|strong="G3819" ago|strong="G3819", sitting|strong="G2521" in|strong="G1722" sackcloth|strong="G4526" and|strong="G2532" ashes|strong="G4700". 14 But|strong="G2532" it|strong="G2532" will|strong="G1510" be|strong="G1510" more|strong="G2532" tolerable for|strong="G1722" Tyre|strong="G5184" and|strong="G2532" Sidon|strong="G4605" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" judgment|strong="G2920" than|strong="G2228" for|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210". 15 You|strong="G4771", Capernaum|strong="G2584", who|strong="G2532" are|strong="G2532" exalted|strong="G5312" to|strong="G2532" heaven|strong="G3772", will|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" brought|strong="G2532" down|strong="G2597" to|strong="G2532" Hades. 16 Whoever|strong="G3588" listens to|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210" listens to|strong="G2532" me|strong="G1473", and|strong="G2532" whoever|strong="G3588" rejects you|strong="G5210" rejects me|strong="G1473". Whoever|strong="G3588" rejects me|strong="G1473" rejects him|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3588" sent|strong="G2532" me|strong="G1473".” 17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” 18 He said to them, “I|strong="G1161" saw|strong="G2334" Satan|strong="G4567" having fallen|strong="G4098" like|strong="G5613" lightning from|strong="G1537" heaven|strong="G3772". 19 Behold|strong="G2400", I|strong="G2532" give|strong="G1325" you|strong="G5210" authority|strong="G1849" to|strong="G2532" tread|strong="G3961" on|strong="G1909" serpents|strong="G3789" and|strong="G2532" scorpions|strong="G4651", and|strong="G2532" over|strong="G1909" all|strong="G3956" the|strong="G2532" power|strong="G1411" of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" enemy|strong="G2190". Nothing|strong="G3762" will|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1909" any|strong="G3956" way|strong="G3956" hurt you|strong="G5210". 20 Nevertheless|strong="G4133", don’t|strong="G3588" rejoice|strong="G5463" in|strong="G1722" this|strong="G3778", that|strong="G3754" the|strong="G1722" spirits|strong="G4151" are|strong="G3588" subject|strong="G5293" to|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210", but|strong="G1161" rejoice|strong="G5463" that|strong="G3754" your|strong="G1722" names|strong="G3686" are|strong="G3588" written|strong="G1449" in|strong="G1722" heaven|strong="G3772".” 21 In that same hour, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I|strong="G2532" thank|strong="G1843" you|strong="G4771", O|strong="G3962" Father|strong="G3962", Lord|strong="G2962" of|strong="G4151" heaven|strong="G3772" and|strong="G2532" earth|strong="G1093", that|strong="G3754" you|strong="G4771" have|strong="G2532" hidden these|strong="G3778" things|strong="G3778" from|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" wise|strong="G4680" and|strong="G2532" understanding, and|strong="G2532" revealed them|strong="G3588" to|strong="G2532" little children|strong="G3516". Yes|strong="G3483", Father|strong="G3962", for|strong="G3754" so|strong="G3779" it|strong="G2532" was|strong="G1096" well-pleasing|strong="G2107" in|strong="G1722" your|strong="G2962" sight|strong="G1715".” 22 Turning to the disciples, he said, “All|strong="G3956" things|strong="G3956" have|strong="G2532" been|strong="G1510" delivered|strong="G3860" to|strong="G4314" me|strong="G1473" by|strong="G5259" my|strong="G3956" Father|strong="G3962". No|strong="G3762" one|strong="G3762" knows|strong="G1097" who|strong="G3739" the|strong="G2532" Son|strong="G5207" is|strong="G1510", except|strong="G1487" the|strong="G2532" Father|strong="G3962", and|strong="G2532" who|strong="G3739" the|strong="G2532" Father|strong="G3962" is|strong="G1510", except|strong="G1487" the|strong="G2532" Son|strong="G5207", and|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" to|strong="G4314" whomever|strong="G3739" the|strong="G2532" Son|strong="G5207" desires|strong="G1014" to|strong="G4314" reveal him|strong="G3588".” 23 Turning to the disciples, he said privately, “Blessed|strong="G3107" are|strong="G3588" the|strong="G2532" eyes|strong="G3788" which|strong="G3739" see the|strong="G2532" things|strong="G3588" that|strong="G3739" you|strong="G3739" see, 24 for|strong="G1063" I|strong="G3739" tell|strong="G3004" you|strong="G5210" that|strong="G3754" many|strong="G4183" prophets|strong="G4396" and|strong="G2532" kings desired|strong="G2309" to|strong="G2532" see|strong="G3708" the|strong="G2532" things|strong="G4183" which|strong="G3739" you|strong="G5210" see|strong="G3708", and|strong="G2532" didn’t see|strong="G3708" them|strong="G3739", and|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" hear the|strong="G2532" things|strong="G4183" which|strong="G3739" you|strong="G5210" hear, and|strong="G2532" didn’t hear them|strong="G3739".” 25 Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 He said to him, “What|strong="G5101" is|strong="G3588" written|strong="G1125" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" law|strong="G3551"? How|strong="G4459" do|strong="G5101" you|strong="G1722" read|strong="G1125" it|strong="G1161"?” 27 He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” 28 He said to him, “You|strong="G3004" have|strong="G2532" answered|strong="G3004" correctly|strong="G3723". Do|strong="G4160" this|strong="G3778", and|strong="G2532" you|strong="G3004" will|strong="G2532" live|strong="G2198".” 29 But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?” 30 Jesus answered, “A|strong="G2532" certain|strong="G5100" man|strong="G5100" was|strong="G3588" going|strong="G2597" down|strong="G2597" from|strong="G2597" Jerusalem|strong="G2419" to|strong="G1519" Jericho|strong="G2410", and|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" fell|strong="G2597" among|strong="G1519" robbers|strong="G3027", who|strong="G3739" both|strong="G2532" stripped|strong="G1562" him|strong="G3588" and|strong="G2532" beat|strong="G4127" him|strong="G3588", and|strong="G2532" departed, leaving|strong="G2007" him|strong="G3588" half|strong="G2253" dead|strong="G2253". 31 By|strong="G1722" chance|strong="G4795" a|strong="G2532" certain|strong="G5100" priest|strong="G2409" was|strong="G3588" going|strong="G2597" down|strong="G2597" that|strong="G3588" way|strong="G3598". When|strong="G1161" he|strong="G2532" saw|strong="G3708" him|strong="G3588", he|strong="G2532" passed|strong="G3588" by|strong="G1722" on|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" other|strong="G1161" side|strong="G3598". 32 In|strong="G2596" the|strong="G2532" same|strong="G3668" way|strong="G3668" a|strong="G1096" Levite|strong="G3019" also|strong="G2532", when|strong="G1161" he|strong="G2532" came|strong="G2064" to|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" place|strong="G5117" and|strong="G2532" saw|strong="G3708" him|strong="G3588", passed|strong="G3588" by|strong="G2596" on|strong="G2596" the|strong="G2532" other|strong="G1161" side. 33 But|strong="G1161" a|strong="G2532" certain|strong="G5100" Samaritan|strong="G4541", as|strong="G1161" he|strong="G2532" traveled, came|strong="G2064" where|strong="G2596" he|strong="G2532" was|strong="G2532". Whatever|strong="G3739" you|strong="G4771" spend|strong="G4325" beyond|strong="G1909" that|strong="G3739", I|strong="G1473" will|strong="G2532" repay you|strong="G4771" when|strong="G2532" I|strong="G1473" return|strong="G1880".’ 36 Now|strong="G1096" which|strong="G3588" of|strong="G3588" these|strong="G3778" three|strong="G5140" do|strong="G5101" you|strong="G4771" think|strong="G1380" seemed|strong="G1380" to|strong="G1519" be|strong="G1096" a|strong="G1096" neighbor|strong="G4139" to|strong="G1519" him|strong="G3588" who|strong="G5101" fell|strong="G1096" among|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1519" robbers|strong="G3027"?” 37 He said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go|strong="G4198" and|strong="G2532" do|strong="G4160" likewise|strong="G3668".” 38 As they went on their way, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard his word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me.” 41 Jesus answered her, “Martha|strong="G3136", Martha|strong="G3136", you|strong="G3004" are|strong="G3588" anxious|strong="G3309" and|strong="G2532" troubled|strong="G2350" about|strong="G4012" many|strong="G4183" things|strong="G3588", 42 but|strong="G1161" one|strong="G1520" thing|strong="G1520" is|strong="G1510" needed|strong="G5532". Mary|strong="G3137" has|strong="G3748" chosen|strong="G1586" the|strong="G1161" good|strong="G3756" part|strong="G3310", which|strong="G3588" will|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" be|strong="G1510" taken away from|strong="G3588" her|strong="G3137".”
