Luke 17

1 He said to the disciples, “It|strong="G1161" is|strong="G1510" impossible that|strong="G3739" no|strong="G3361" occasions of|strong="G1223" stumbling|strong="G4625" should|strong="G3588" come|strong="G2064", but|strong="G1161" woe|strong="G3759" to|strong="G4314" him|strong="G3588" through|strong="G1223" whom|strong="G3739" they|strong="G1161" come|strong="G2064"! 2 It|strong="G2532" would|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" better|strong="G3081" for|strong="G1519" him|strong="G3588" if|strong="G1487" a|strong="G2532" millstone|strong="G3037" were|strong="G3588" hung|strong="G4029" around|strong="G4012" his|strong="G1519" neck|strong="G5137", and|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" were|strong="G3588" thrown|strong="G4496" into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" sea|strong="G2281", rather|strong="G2228" than|strong="G2228" that|strong="G2443" he|strong="G2532" should|strong="G3588" cause|strong="G4624" one|strong="G1520" of|strong="G4012" these|strong="G3778" little|strong="G3398" ones|strong="G3398" to|strong="G1519" stumble|strong="G4624". 3 Be|strong="G2532" careful|strong="G4337". If|strong="G1437" your|strong="G1437" brother sins against you|strong="G4771", rebuke|strong="G2008" him|strong="G3588". If|strong="G1437" he|strong="G2532" repents|strong="G3340", forgive him|strong="G3588". 4 If|strong="G1437" he|strong="G2532" sins against|strong="G4314" you|strong="G4771" seven|strong="G2034" times|strong="G2034" in|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" day|strong="G2250", and|strong="G2532" seven|strong="G2034" times|strong="G2034" returns|strong="G1994", saying|strong="G3004", ‘I|strong="G2532" repent|strong="G3340",’ you|strong="G4771" shall|strong="G2532" forgive him|strong="G3588".” 5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” 6 The Lord said, “If|strong="G1487" you|strong="G5210" had|strong="G2192" faith|strong="G4102" like|strong="G5613" a|strong="G2192" grain|strong="G2848" of|strong="G2532" mustard|strong="G4615" seed|strong="G2848", you|strong="G5210" would|strong="G2532" tell|strong="G3004" this|strong="G3778" sycamore tree|strong="G4807", ‘Be|strong="G2532" uprooted|strong="G1610" and|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" planted|strong="G5452" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" sea|strong="G2281",’ and|strong="G2532" it|strong="G2532" would|strong="G2532" obey|strong="G5219" you|strong="G5210". 7 But|strong="G1161" who|strong="G3739" is|strong="G3588" there|strong="G1161" among|strong="G1537" you|strong="G5210", having|strong="G2192" a|strong="G2192" servant|strong="G1401" plowing or|strong="G2228" keeping|strong="G2192" sheep|strong="G4165", that|strong="G3739" will|strong="G5101" say|strong="G3004" when|strong="G1161" he|strong="G1161" comes|strong="G1525" in|strong="G1525" from|strong="G1537" the|strong="G1537" field, ‘Come|strong="G1525" immediately|strong="G2112" and|strong="G1161" sit down|strong="G1537" at|strong="G1537" the|strong="G1537" table’? 8 Wouldn’t he|strong="G2532" rather|strong="G3780" tell|strong="G3004" him|strong="G2532", ‘Prepare|strong="G2090" my|strong="G1473" supper|strong="G1172", clothe|strong="G4024" yourself|strong="G4771" properly, and|strong="G2532" serve|strong="G1247" me|strong="G1473" while|strong="G2193" I|strong="G1473" eat|strong="G2068" and|strong="G2532" drink|strong="G4095". Afterward|strong="G3326" you|strong="G4771" shall|strong="G2532" eat|strong="G2068" and|strong="G2532" drink|strong="G4095"’? 9 Does|strong="G4160" he|strong="G3754" thank|strong="G5485" that|strong="G3754" servant|strong="G1401" because|strong="G3754" he|strong="G3754" did|strong="G4160" the|strong="G3588" things|strong="G3588" that|strong="G3754" were|strong="G3588" commanded|strong="G1299"? I|strong="G3754" think|strong="G2192" not|strong="G3361". 10 Even|strong="G2532" so|strong="G3779" you|strong="G5210" also|strong="G2532", when|strong="G3752" you|strong="G5210" have|strong="G2532" done|strong="G4160" all|strong="G3956" the|strong="G2532" things|strong="G3956" that|strong="G3754" are|strong="G1510" commanded|strong="G1299" you|strong="G5210", say|strong="G3004", ‘We|strong="G3739" are|strong="G1510" unworthy servants|strong="G1401". We|strong="G3739" have|strong="G2532" done|strong="G4160" our|strong="G2532" duty.’” 11 As he was on his way to Jerusalem, he was passing along the borders of Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he entered into a certain village, ten men who were lepers met him, who stood at a distance. 13 They lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” 14 When he saw them, he said to them, “Go they went, they were cleansed. 15 One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice. 16 He fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan. 17 Jesus answered, “Weren’t|strong="G3588" the|strong="G1161" ten|strong="G1176" cleansed|strong="G2511"? But|strong="G1161" where|strong="G4226" are|strong="G3588" the|strong="G1161" nine|strong="G1767"? 18 Were|strong="G3588" there|strong="G1487" none|strong="G3756" found|strong="G2147" who|strong="G3588" returned|strong="G5290" to|strong="G1325" give|strong="G1325" glory|strong="G1391" to|strong="G1325" God|strong="G2316", except|strong="G1487" this|strong="G3778" foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Get|strong="G4982" up|strong="G4198", and|strong="G2532" go|strong="G4198" your|strong="G2532" way|strong="G4198". Your|strong="G2532" faith|strong="G4102" has|strong="G4102" healed|strong="G4982" you|strong="G4771".” 20 Being asked by the Pharisees when God’s Kingdom would come, he answered them, “God|strong="G2316"’s Kingdom doesn’t|strong="G3588" come|strong="G2064" with|strong="G3326" observation|strong="G3907"; 21 neither|strong="G3761" will|strong="G2316" they|strong="G3588" say|strong="G3004", ‘Look|strong="G2400", here|strong="G5602"!’ or|strong="G2228", ‘Look|strong="G2400", there|strong="G1563"!’ for|strong="G1063" behold|strong="G2400", God|strong="G2316"’s Kingdom is|strong="G1510" within|strong="G1787" you|strong="G5210".” 22 He said to the disciples, “The|strong="G2532" days|strong="G2250" will|strong="G2532" come|strong="G2064" when|strong="G3753" you|strong="G3004" will|strong="G2532" desire|strong="G1937" to|strong="G4314" see|strong="G3708" one|strong="G1520" of|strong="G5207" the|strong="G2532" days|strong="G2250" of|strong="G5207" the|strong="G2532" Son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G5207" Man|strong="G1520", and|strong="G2532" you|strong="G3004" will|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" see|strong="G3708" it|strong="G2532". 23 They|strong="G2532" will|strong="G2532" tell|strong="G3004" you|strong="G5210", ‘Look|strong="G2400", here|strong="G5602"!’ or|strong="G2532" ‘Look|strong="G2400", there|strong="G1563"!’ Don’t go|strong="G2532" away or|strong="G2532" follow|strong="G1377" after|strong="G1377" them|strong="G3004", 24 for|strong="G1063" as|strong="G5618" the|strong="G1722" lightning, when|strong="G1722" it|strong="G1063" flashes out|strong="G1537" of|strong="G1537" one|strong="G3588" part under|strong="G5259" the|strong="G1722" sky|strong="G3772", shines|strong="G2989" to|strong="G1519" another|strong="G2250" part under|strong="G5259" the|strong="G1722" sky|strong="G3772", so|strong="G3779" will|strong="G1510" the|strong="G1722" Son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G1537" Man|strong="G1519" be|strong="G1510" in|strong="G1722" his|strong="G1519" day|strong="G2250". 25 But|strong="G1161" first|strong="G4413", he|strong="G2532" must|strong="G1163" suffer|strong="G3958" many|strong="G4183" things|strong="G3778" and|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" rejected by|strong="G2532" this|strong="G3778" generation|strong="G1074". 26 As|strong="G2531" it|strong="G2532" was|strong="G1510" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" days|strong="G2250" of|strong="G5207" Noah|strong="G3575", even|strong="G2532" so|strong="G3779" it|strong="G2532" will|strong="G1510" also|strong="G2532" be|strong="G1096" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" days|strong="G2250" of|strong="G5207" the|strong="G1722" Son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G5207" Man|strong="G5207". 27 They|strong="G2532" ate|strong="G2068", they|strong="G2532" drank|strong="G4095", they|strong="G2532" married|strong="G1060", and|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" were|strong="G3588" given|strong="G1061" in|strong="G1519" marriage|strong="G1061" until|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" day|strong="G2250" that|strong="G3739" Noah|strong="G3575" entered|strong="G1525" into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" ship, and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" flood|strong="G2627" came|strong="G2064" and|strong="G2532" destroyed them|strong="G3588" all|strong="G3956". 28 Likewise|strong="G3668", even|strong="G2531" as|strong="G2531" it|strong="G2531" was|strong="G1096" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" days|strong="G2250" of|strong="G2250" Lot|strong="G3091": they|strong="G3588" ate|strong="G2068", they|strong="G3588" drank|strong="G4095", they|strong="G3588" bought, they|strong="G3588" sold|strong="G4453", they|strong="G3588" planted|strong="G5452", they|strong="G3588" built|strong="G3618"; 29 but|strong="G1161" in|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" day|strong="G2250" that|strong="G3739" Lot|strong="G3091" went|strong="G1831" out|strong="G1831" from|strong="G2532" Sodom|strong="G4670", it|strong="G2532" rained|strong="G1026" fire|strong="G4442" and|strong="G2532" sulfur|strong="G2303" from|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" sky|strong="G3772" and|strong="G2532" destroyed them|strong="G3739" all|strong="G3956". 30 It|strong="G1510" will|strong="G1510" be|strong="G1510" the|strong="G2596" same|strong="G3739" way|strong="G2596" in|strong="G2596" the|strong="G2596" day|strong="G2250" that|strong="G3739" the|strong="G2596" Son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G5207" Man|strong="G3739" is|strong="G1510" revealed. 31 In|strong="G1722" that|strong="G3739" day|strong="G2250", he|strong="G2532" who|strong="G3739" will|strong="G1510" be|strong="G1510" on|strong="G1909" the|strong="G1722" housetop|strong="G1430" and|strong="G2532" his|strong="G1519" goods|strong="G4632" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" house|strong="G3614", let|strong="G1510" him|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3361" go|strong="G2597" down|strong="G2597" to|strong="G1519" take|strong="G2532" them|strong="G3588" away. Let|strong="G1510" him|strong="G3588" who|strong="G3739" is|strong="G1510" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" field likewise|strong="G3668" not|strong="G3361" turn|strong="G1994" back|strong="G3694". 32 Remember|strong="G3421" Lot|strong="G3091"’s wife|strong="G1135"! 33 Whoever|strong="G3739" seeks|strong="G2212" to|strong="G2532" save his|strong="G1438" life|strong="G5590" loses it|strong="G2532", but|strong="G1161" whoever|strong="G3739" loses his|strong="G1438" life|strong="G5590" preserves it|strong="G2532". 34 I|strong="G2532" tell|strong="G3004" you|strong="G5210", in|strong="G1909" that|strong="G3588" night|strong="G3571" there|strong="G2532" will|strong="G1510" be|strong="G1510" two|strong="G1417" people|strong="G1510" in|strong="G1909" one|strong="G1520" bed|strong="G2825". One|strong="G1520" will|strong="G1510" be|strong="G1510" taken|strong="G3880" and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" other|strong="G2087" will|strong="G1510" be|strong="G1510" left. 35 There|strong="G1161" will|strong="G1510" be|strong="G1510" two|strong="G1417" grinding grain together|strong="G1909". One|strong="G1520" will|strong="G1510" be|strong="G1510" taken|strong="G3880" and|strong="G1161" the|strong="G1161" other|strong="G2087" will|strong="G1510" be|strong="G1510" left.” 37 They, answering, asked him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where|strong="G3699" the|strong="G2532" body|strong="G4983" is|strong="G3588", there|strong="G1563" the|strong="G2532" vultures will|strong="G2532" also|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" gathered|strong="G1996" together|strong="G1996".”
